Gratitude

Time claims ever second, minute, hour, day and year.  It is unrelenting in its appetite.  As I took some time to myself this morning to reflect on 2016 I have been overcome with Gratitide.  It has been an incredible year for myself, my husband, my family, and my friends.  I am grateful for the abundance life has to offer each of us and the lessons we can learn.  A few highlights of my year.

  1. Son leaving for his mission in Chile 🇨🇱 and all that surrounds this singular event.  I cannot even begin to list the blessings.  This one experience alone would a lifetime make.
  2. Trump winning the election.  For those that follow my blog and know me.  Yeah this was an epic upset and I am thrilled!
  3. Our move to Idaho.  One of the single biggest decisions of our lives and one that came with an absolute confirmation this was God’s will.
  4. My husbands successful Exit from one of his business ventures.  Hard work does pay off.  Congrats my love ❤️ and thank you for dinner!
  5. The Gift of Hope and the inspiration to spread this message to others in a way that has changed lives.  May Hope spread.
  6. BYU Football having a great season and the future looks bright.  RIP Coach.
  7. Swimming with Dolphins. 🐬  I can’t wait to see you again.  I am keeping my promise and bringing my kids to see you.  One of the most memorable experiences of my life.
  8. Travel.  This year brought many changes including the opportunity to visit some places I have never or rarely been.  Hawaii, the Oregon Coast, Orlando, Manhatten, Cape Cod and Island Park.  Other places I was able to spend time include Jackson Hole, San Diego and Las Vegas.  We are starting 2017 off right with a trip to Costa Rica.
  9. My Testimony
  10. Wonder.  I tend to look at everything and ask questions.  For those that know me best probably find this childlike response to the world contagious.  “It is the gift of Wonder that we are inspired to Explore.”

Thank you 2016 and 2017 I welcome and embrace what is to come.  I still am in awe many of you follow this blog.  Over 10,000 followers and growing every day.  With much gratitude.  Angie 😇

New Years Weekend

Well the year 2016 is coming to a close.  It has been so fun spending time with our friends and their families.  Today we got up about 7:30 and made a great breakfast.  Homemade doughnuts and scones.  Strawberries, bananas and oranges.  The really good oranges that are just a burst of flavor.  Clementines!  I also like Cuties.  Oranges have got to be really good, the cheap ones blah.  It’s like strawberries.  Big and full of flavor and I’m just like happy.  Love flavor and smells!  Anyway back to breakfast.  Homemade doughnuts and scones are very popular and a fun contrast with the fruit.  We also had apple juice, orange juice, grape juice and pineapple juice.  Hot chocolate with shaved dark chocolate and whip cream plus as a Holiday bonus we crushed peppermint candy canes as well to make it extra special.  It was a very good breakfast.  After we got everything together for our snowmobiling adventure and left at noon.  Took hot chocolate in in a couple big thernoses and snacks plus all the gear.  Spent 4 hours up in the mountains.  We went up to this big open bowl area where we could just go and have fun.  We had races and the kids got to do a little riding themselves.  We had a good guide.  I’m sure I would have gotten lost.  Around 5 pm we  headed back so we could get ready for Temple Square and dinner at the Lion House.  The Church Museum is super cool.  Go if you get the chance and the lights are always a favorite.  It was really pretty and not too crowded.  Got back to the Casa around 9:30 and played some card games while the kids watched a movie.

Tomorrow we are going to look for a BBQ we need for dinner.  We are going to watch some college football games.  Roll Tide!  Tomorrow evening we are doing fondue with steak and chicken on the BBQ with corn on the cob, corn bread, funeral potatoes and scotcharoos for dessert.  Then it’s trying to make it to midnight.  I am so glad that church here is moving to 11 am Sunday.  It is at home in Idaho as well.  Might go snow shoeing on Sunday afternoon.  Monday we head home.  It has been one of the best holidays ever!  Already planning the next adventure.  💕

Heaven

If you are seeking Heaven on Earth you simply have to control time.  Imagine a world in which time was yours.  Financially there wasn’t deadlines and commitments demanded of you.  You were in control of how you spent your time.  You had the means to pursue the things that are meaningful to you and with those important to you.  Free yourself from the demands of time and you will discover Heaven.  I have had a glimpse.  I want to spend more time there ❤.  It’s an irony of agency that the only currency that really matters is time.  You don’t need to be rich to choose wisely.

Lavell Tribute

Today one of my Heros died.  I grew up watching him coach my BYU Cougars.  Lavell Edwards was a great coach but most importantly he was a great leader.  He once made time to come and speak to us.  He told us we were an integral part of the football teams success.  Our efforts on the field and our interaction with the fans made Game Day a success, win or lose.  One of the things I admired most about Coach was despite the fact he won a lot of football games his focus was on developing good people.  Whether you were a coach, player, or even a cheerleader you never, ever doubted that you made a difference and it was more about life than the win.  Part of life is growing old and eventually we all die.  I will miss him.  I understand that his beautiful wife Patti and his family were with him this morning when he passed away.  My prayers are with them.  Patti is a remarkable woman and I am sure is doing much more in comforting others than needing to be comforted tonight.  My best friends Mandy and Sara and their families have been with us in Park City for New Years.  It was the girls turn to head down to BYU for a basketball game, so the three of us and the oldest girls came down tonight.  It was so awesome seeing Lavell Edwards Stadium lit up in tribute to Coach.  (See pic below)  It was the house that he built.  We decided we wanted to do our own tribute for Coach tonight.  So we had us three and found a few more.  After the game we connected up and walked down to the stadium.  We had our own impromptu cheer as we sang the fight song.  Rise and Shout!  💙

Lavell Edwards Story

BYU Fight Song

The Cougar Song
Brigham Young University

By Clyde D. Sandgren, 1932

Rise all loyal Cougars and hurl your challenge to the foe.
You will fight, day or night, rain or snow.

Loyal, strong, and true

Wear the white and blue.

While we sing, get set to spring.

Come on Cougars it’s up to you. Oh!

Chorus:
Rise and shout, the Cougars are out

along the trail to fame and glory.

Rise and shout, our cheers will ring out

As you unfold your victr’y story.

On you go to vanquish the foe for Alma Mater’s sons and daughters.
As we join in song, in praise of you, our faith is strong.

We’ll raise our colors high in the blue

And cheer our Cougars of BYU.

Ra, Ra, Ra Ra Ra Go Cougars

Tolerance

Can someone please explain to me where the Liberal moral high ground disappeared to?  Trump wins the Presidency and suddenly there is no room for tolerance any longer.  Oh I get it, the tolerance conversations were about us conservatives being tolerant of the liberal agenda being shoved down our throats.  That makes so much more sense.  So now liberals redefine the rules again to more align with their fantasies.  Now the rules are designers won’t make clothing for the First Lady because somehow this may stop Trump from becoming President.  Musicians refuse to perform because once again this may stop Trump from becoming President.  Perhaps networks will refuse to televise the Inauguration because you know if no one sees it Trump may not become President.  The irony is someone will perform and their career will sky rocket and they will sell a bazillion albums.  Some designer will make the First Lady a dress and they will become world renowned and a hugely sought after designer.  Trump will still become President no matter if networks air it or not.  I do have one thing to applaud the liberals about though.  They believe strongly enough in their fantasy that they are willing to pass up fame and fortune for their jacked up paradigms of the world.  Kudos to them for taking a stand!  Here is to egg in the face of the delusional.  Enjoy the video link.
