Week Off

Keith turned 46 on Thursday. They say the key to longevity is to have many birthdays. So we choose to celebrate them all week.

Monday we took a day trip to Sun Valley, Idaho. This was our first trip there and I loved it. Took a drive up to a ranch in Sawtooth National Forest. After enjoyed lunch at the Pioneer Saloon on Main Street. Spent the afternoon playing tourist and getting a feel for the place. Definitely coming back for skiing this Winter. Even made reservations.

Pioneer Saloon in Ketchum. I loved this place. Historic Main Street and unbelievable food. If you haven’t been here this is the place to go!

Tuesday after the kids left for school we had sex and more sex. Played some racquetball, went to lunch and our youngest son had a flag football game.

Wednesday was our second day trip of the week. This time we ventured North to Big Sky, Montana. Another first experience for us. Montana is a place we are quickly falling in love with. We visited a property close to Lone Peak. The views were breathtaking.

Another discovery of a great place to eat that I’ll share with you is Lone Peak Brewery. We aren’t drinkers but holy wow the food was good. A bit slow this time of year but they took great care of us.

Big Sky Resort is another gem. I can’t wait to make it back for skiing. Reservations made and another afternoon of playing tourist. A lot of places closed still but I hear Winter comes fast in Montana. Home is less than three hours from Big Sky.

Thursday started at the Idaho Falls Temple followed by lunch at Costa Vida. We had planned to go see the new movie Ad Astra but the afternoon got away from us. Keith had some Bishopric duties and I had YW. Us girls had a fun night of indoor rock climbing, Scotcharoos and milk for dessert.

Friday was the day of the Party. Our best friends and their families came up from Utah and our kids made it up in time for dinner. Invited some of our closest friends as well. Had dinner catered and enjoyed a feast of ribs, wings, corn on the cob, rolls and funeral potatoes. He asked for cupcakes for dessert. A bit hard to put 46 candles on cupcakes so he got a cake too! The guys played video games in the arcade for awhile then watched the last of the ASU vs Cal game. It was a fun night with a lot of laughing and teasing him.

Saturday another big breakfast but not till 9. The kids were up super late playing video games I heard. Watched a miserable BYU loss after breakfast and then enjoyed some spa time with Mandy and Sara. It was time well spent. End of day included Suicide Squad and rootbeer floats.

Sunday was the end of the celebration. I really enjoyed having them and the kids home for Keith’s birthday. It is always hard seeing everyone off. They left today after an early dinner. I will end this long post with this. Halloween is coming and it’s going to be awesome!
