Breaking Quarantine

Not sure about you, but we are almost done with this charade they call a Pandemic. No question COVID-19 is real. Beyond that, I don’t believe the rest of the bull$hit.

Saturday evening had a couple friends over. Keith grilled up some steaks and I made some homemade fries. A salad and lemonade completed dinner. For dessert s’mores at the firepit. Enjoyed viewing the night sky with the telescope and some much needed conversation. Honestly I am so excited for the Summer nights.

Steak, S’mores, Stars

Sunday fresh made donuts, marbled eggs and juice for breakfast followed by Church. Some day we will go back to meeting in our Chapel, but for now this has been a unique experience I have enjoyed. In the afternoon played Hand & Foot, a favorite card game and baked some chocolate chip cookies or dessert with cold glass of milk to dip them in. Another upside to the quarantine. Time to bake and cook.

Hand and Foot!

Monday Keith and our two BYU students left early for the Land of Provo. The time finally arrived to get checked out of the dorms at BYU. Got to spend the day with the younger boys. Played a couple of games on the PlayStation. I am not very good at video games. A friend dropped by and we chatted while the boys watched the first Spider-Man movie. I have so missed people!

Spider-Man the Original

Tuesday honestly didn’t do much. Slept in, masturbated with my vibe, ran three miles and waited on Keith and the kids to get home.

Wednesday has been a little more exciting. Ran 5 miles today outside! Some out on the road and some on a trail. Today was so BEE YOU TEE FULL! Hit 75 degrees and a nice breeze. I would be okay if it stayed like this for awhile. Keith talked me into playing racquetball. Why I don’t know, but I beat him! He had me chasing down balls and I think he got overconfident knowing I was tired, but I BEAT HIM! Does not happen often enough, but the look on his face was priceless. Paying for it now though, super sore! He warmed up some pizzas for dinner and we chilled in the hot tub listening to one of my playlists.

One of our daughter’s teammates is coming to stay next week. She is so excited, actually we all are. Keep thinking of that song from Beauty and the Beast, Be Our Guest. Anyway, it made me laugh as that is how desperate it feels. Maybe we won’t embarrass her. Maybe we will 😂

Be our guest, be our guest!
Our command is your request
It’s been years since we’ve had anybody here
And we’re obsessed
With your meal, with your ease
Yes, indeed, we aim to please
While the candlelight’s still glowing
Let us help you, we’ll keep going

Course by course, one by one
‘Til you shout, “enough I’m done!”
Then we’ll sing you off to sleep as you digest
Tonight you’ll prop your feet up
But for now, let’s eat up
Be our guest
Be our guest
Be our guest
Please, be our guest!

Beauty and the Beast

Parting Thoughts. Not sure much needs to be added. Enjoy the gift quarantine has brought us, Time.

Limitless – Bon Jovi

If you want to enjoy this Anthem of Hope, here is the link Limitless video. Jon Bon Jovi continues to inspire with song and action. The JBJ Soul Kitchen continues to serve many that are hungry through the COVID-19 pandemic. Here is a link Soul Kitchen to learn more. Personally for me, this continued act of kindness is one of the most charitable examples I have ever witnessed. Loved the concept before but in a time of need they step up even bigger. That is what you do.

I was bummed to hear news Bon Jovi cancelled their 2020 Tour. Keith had concert tickets for the show in Boston on July 16th for my birthday. Would have been fun to see both Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi. Great blessings and sacrifices are plentiful for all this year.

This has been an unusual week. DōTERRA really stepped up big with a creative BOGO. Numbers were off the chart. Started working on end of month early. Getting our ducks in a row. After 60 hours of video calls and phone calls listening, praying and crying with peeps I have one thing I know with a surety. It’s going to be alright. Grateful.

This week brought great lessons from others. How they are finding Peace while the World is paused. One friend shared a particularly beautiful thought. “Look at all the things we are getting to do now. Never in my life have I had all the noise stop. Not chasing things we have to do. I get time with my husband, kids, projects, staying up late, sleeping in. It’s beautiful!” I love her wisdom and paradigm. Below are a few of the best things shared with me. Enjoy!

This morning started the day with some intimate time with Keith. Made some delicious smoothies and caught up with the family. Some exciting things happening in everyone’s lives. Hard to believe May is just around the corner. ♥️

Stanley, Idaho

Keith and I were up early Easter Morning. Hid 100 eggs in the Barn for “The Hunt.” Kids still love chasing down Easter Eggs since Keith started putting money in the plastic eggs a few years ago. Quite the incentive! Breakfast, Easter Church Service and a Roasted Beast Dinner is how we spent the day. Left for an adventure to Stanley, Idaho around 5 pm. A change of scenery was needed and that is a beautiful drive over the North Passage through the mountains. Arrived just after dark to a surprise of warm cinnamon roll apple pie & homemade ice cream. Yummy!

Unexpected Surprise!

Monday fed the horses and went for a ride. The weather isn’t looking good, will probably have to enjoy indoor activities. All the kids have school work and later in the day played Pool and watched The Kid. The younger boys hadn’t seen it before and they loved it. Sometimes an older movie is a great way to spend an evening.

July 2000 Revisited

Tuesday more time feeding and loving on the horses. Brushed them and fed them apples and carrots. Horses are so smart and playful. The dogs love them to. A really cold day so glad we were able to be in the Barn. Grilled some HUGE T-bone steaks for dinner with mashed potatoes, peas and hot rolls. Our hosts joined us for dinner and cards. They have been the caretakers of this property for years. Shared a lot of history and stories of the area.

Wednesday Overcast and trying to snow all day. The snow never fell. Got another long ride in on the horses. Game night was the Farming Game. Appropriate for being out on a ranch. Decided to stay another day as tomorrow should be a bit warmer.

This pic captures the week

Thursday finally warmed up so took the 4-wheelers out. Packed lunches for a day exploring. Always nice to have a Guide. Made it back dirty and tired but what an amazing day. Dogs were happy as they got to come to. Ended the evening enjoying a campfire.

Good Morning Thursday!

Friday said out goodbyes, loaded the trailer and headed back to Idaho Falls. Despite the less than perfect weather it has been a great getaway. Planning a quiet weekend working in the Greenhouse Saturday. I have found it to be my retreat from the busy of life. Getting my hands dirty or just a serene place to meditate this place brings me Peace. Sunday will relax and another week of Church at home.

Dreaming of New Visions

Written by Kathleen O’Mara during the Spanish Flu in 1919.

And people stayed at home
And read books
And listened
And they rested
And did exercises
And made art and played
And learned new ways of being
And stopped and listened
More deeply
Someone meditated, someone prayed
Someone met their shadow
And people began to think differently
And people healed.
And in the absence of people who
Lived in ignorant ways
Dangerous, meaningless and heartless,
The earth also began to heal
And when the danger ended and
People found themselves
They grieved for the dead
And made new choices
And dreamed of new visions
And created new ways of living
And completely healed the earth
Just as they were healed.

Conference weekend was just WOW! Loved the new symbol, Hosanna Shout, Proclamation, Temple announcements, Apostolic Blessing and the Day of Fasting coming up on Good Friday. Plus there were some great talks. Not sure I could have handled anymore. Mind blown.

Updated Symbol introduced April 2020

Sunday also brought Episode 2 from the Some Good New network. I have always loved John Krasinski from The Office. He and his wife Emily Blunt represent the best of Hollywood. If you haven’t tuned in yet, this is a really special thing. So much awesome wrapped into 17 minutes. Here is the link SGN Episode 2. It is a wonderful thing to see someone with influence elevate so many to Joy. Thank you John!

Some Good News by John Krasinski
I am a fan!

Monday made Christmas cookies. I think the family was shocked to unexpectedly see a plate full of delicious, cream cheese frosted, sugar cookies in April. Smiles all around. I may have eaten too many, but it was worth it! Oh that cream cheese frosting is yummy.

Christmas Magic in Spring

Tuesday evening we had Fondue for dinner. The great thing about Fondue is the stories and talking. It is not a meal to rush. Shared some great memories despite the circumstances. Wednesday and today the weather has been unbelievably nice. Spent a lot of time outside enjoying the sun. Took the four wheelers and motorbikes out for awhile. Yard Crew is here for a few days doing Spring clean up and making the place pretty. Ended the day outside by the fire. Keith brought out his telescope for a view of the full moon. It was lit up! Enjoyed the clear night and bright stars with U2 over the sound system.

Over the past couple of weeks there have been some cool things I have seen in social media or others have shared with me. Perhaps they will bring a smile you as well. Enjoy!

Still makes me laugh!
Best April Fools Ever. Clever!
Most Creative Idea. Or is that really them?
Loved this and shared it.
This is Most Awesome.
Made me SMILE

Final thoughts. Sometimes it falls on you to be the Sunshine. Not every day is storm free. Life is full of crazy, but you always have the choice how to respond. Fortunately this week we found a bit of both.
