Lack of Understanding

Sadly, Memorial Day included the death of George Floyd. I am not going to pretend I know anything about the man, good or bad. The circumstances of his death I find unforgivable at the hands of a police officer. Like millions of others, I am angry. Minneapolis had all of our attention, we were with you. Then you riot, loot and vandalize. Really?! This did what? The violence, yes violence spread to other cities. You, Minneapolis, lost me. I empathize with you over your anger, but your lack of self control has nothing to do with the victim. You are opportunists. Shame on you and every other person that either participated in this violence or has glamorized it. What a missed opportunity to have brought awareness and change. You all have magnified racism and fueled the lust of hatred. For those that have grossly misunderstood, the law grants you the right to assemble and peaceably protest. It does not give you the right to riot, loot, vandalize and threaten. That is called terrorism. This is what a peaceable protest looks like.

Personally if it were up to me, I would turn lose the military and police on you. You are hypocrites and a menace to good society. Fortunate for you others are allowing your stupidity to a degree. A very sad day. A word to the wise, be careful of stirring up the anger of Patriots. There may come a day when Hell is unleashed on your heads.

This is a pic of the Utah State Capitol this morning. I have no words for how angry this makes me.

Just a quick note to be positive as well. I find it interesting the similarities between Apollo 8 and yesterday’s launch of the Dragon Module. Both occurred during a time of great national distress due to citizens who willfully could not control themselves, as well as a time when firsts were so critical to our national technical achievements. We should be proud as Americans and as a human family that good can prevail over poor judgement. I hope this inspires you.

Venturing Out

Monday woke up early for a Memorial Day Hike. Explored over at Kelly Mountain and hiked the Loop. In the afternoon invited Garden Club peeps and Keith grilled chicken. It was sooooo good. Add salad, baked potato and Scotcharoos it made for a fun evening.

Tuesday – Thursday dōTERRA end of month. A few long days. Wanted to wrap up as much as possible before the weekend. Never have liked end of month to fall on a Sunday. This year add travel and yikes!

Went on a trail run Thursday. Broke away for an hour and oh did I enjoy myself. Even had a couple of running companions. Always a treat.

Friday had a strategy call in the morning to prep for our trip to Boston. A couple more dōTERRA calls through lunch. Crashed hard in the afternoon. Keith thought I was done for the night. One of those naps you have to fight to wake up from. Finally dragged myself out of bed. Drank a big glass of water, used some Motivate essential oil and hopped on the elliptical for half an hour. Found a second wind.

Friday Night Cinema movie choice was Balto. It’s a cute movie. Keith grilled up some hamburgers and everyone enjoyed some Pool time. Water is still a little cold, but the day was hot. So with the Pool officially open and our first outdoor Friday Night Cinema of the year Summer is officially open! So glad I didn’t sleep through this.

Saturday more Pool time and a few calls but they were outside while enjoying the Sun. Got my packing done, plus Keith’s, for our trip to Boston. Bought tickets to The Spud in Driggs for Tommy Boy so headed there around 6. Haven’t been to a Drive-In movie in a vert long time. I loved it! New experience for our kids as well.

One movie I am really excited about is the new Christopher Nolan movie TENET. It is going to melt your brain! Here is the Trailer. Coming in July!

Sunday slept in. Made breakfast doughnuts, hard boiled eggs, sausage and bacon and grape juice. Will have Sacrament and then Keith and I are headed to Park City for the beginning of an adventure.

The Truth Hurts

Sadly this is true. When this happens to you, it cuts deep. How do you shield yourself from the unkind? First, never gossip. Second, spread kindness. Third, listen. Simply by avoiding gossip you save yourself from those with a mean spirit. If you want to run in the best circles, find those that laugh, smile and volunteer. Listening closely is the gift of validation. You will experience appreciation and love from those you closely listen to. Peace is found in the soul that has discovered a quiet place for their mind.

The Dance

Today, as most Americans will enjoy time that others no longer have, take a moment and remember their sacrifice. It is one that required not only their own life, but those that were left behind to endure their absence every single day. Never forget.

“Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared beneath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known you’d ever say goodbye
And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I’d have to miss the dance
Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn’t I the king
But if I’d only known how the king would fall
Hey who’s to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I’d of had to miss the dance
Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I’d of had to miss the dance
” Garth Brooks

“God of mercy, God of light
Seek your children from this life.
Here these words, this humble plea for I have seen the suffering.
And with this prayer I’m hoping
That we, can be unbroken.
” Jon Bon Jovi

Roads Lead to Strange Places

Monday had friends over for a bungee workout and the wet spa. Just a few peeps, but we had such a good time. Lunch after was a Chicken Caesar Salad and fresh squeezed lemonade. Zoom call in the afternoon and launch of Garden Club. Pizza, breadsticks and wings for dinner and bowling for FHE.

Tuesday worked in the Garden. Weather hasn’t been promising. Most everyone is putting it off until next week. I guess snow is expected early morning hours Saturday. Spring is Schizophrenic. If it does snow, hoping it doesn’t freeze what has been planted. Would drape plastic over the boxes but the wind has been insane. Fingers crossed for some good luck!

Wednesday got my hair done and highlights. Dogs came and got a treat. Baking chocolate chip cookies tonight and listening to Bon Jovi. (:

Warm cookies and cold milk!

Thursday worked most the day. The beginning of month end for dōTERRA. Hoping our momentum over the past couple months continues to carry us forward.

Love ♥️ my Essential Oils.

Friday is a special day this week. Raiders of the Lost Ark was the choice for Friday Night Cinema. Hoping Summer arrives and we can take this outdoors with more friends in June. Did something a little different this week. The boys each got to invite three friends for a sleepover. Often do late nights, rarely an actual sleepover. Prepared the email invites and they were accepted with much enthusiasm. Could be a long night for Keith (:

Indiana Jones is my Hero!

Saturday made a HUGE breakfast. French toast, bacon, sausage, ham, a fruit plate and pineapple juice, milk and hot chocolate. It is snowing. Seriously! Hot chocolate is a must on a day like this. Watched the snow fall, ate bacon and listened to Christmas music.

Important day ahead for our Ward’s six Seniors. Graduation Celebration planned for 6 pm. Candy Lei’s. Senior Memories and an Auction plus VIP Party just for them. Each Senior got his own area of the Barn as guests came through to give their well wishes. The last hour included a video highlighting each of these kids, held in the Event Hall along with the Auction. Not everyone was able to attend, so for the Highlight Film and Live Auction we streamed it. Our Youth had created a list of chores they would offer in exchange for a donation to our Graduation Fund. The Auction generated approximately $7300. Those funds were split up and given to each of our Seniors. Grateful for the generous gifts of time and money. It was a good night and fun VIP Party!

This week has been full of surprises. kindness and miracles. Some of you are aware of something that has happened to us this week that is a game changer. Roads, especially the dirt ones, often have hidden adventures waiting for you. Take a chance once in awhile and explore. It is worth the effort.
