Home Sweet Home

Long trip back.  Arrived in SLC, then drove home to Idaho Falls.  That extra 4 hours was a killer.  The inlaws who have been watching our kids and fur babies knew we were coming in very late, so they just let us slip in quietly so not to wake the kids.  We succeeded to but not with the cat and dog.  They heard us and there was quite the celebration with the dog that ensued.  He cried and wagged his tail and butt so hard.  He wanted me to hold him, then Keith, then he was like never mind and came back to give me more loves.  It took him like 15 minutes to settle down.  It’s nice to be loved ❤️.  The cat made an appearance and tried as usual to be cool.  Kinda gave us the look and the little nod of “sup?”  That is what he does.  Then he hopped up on the bed and waited for the dog’s embarrassing display of excitement to wane.  I got ready for bed pretty fast.  I could barely keep my eyes open.  Climbed in bed and the cat curled up and went purr mode.  I fell asleep.  I love my cat!  This morning I was up at 6:30 with Grandma making a breakfast feast.  Keith went to wake the kids a little after 7 and after they realized it was their Dad they were up and we got round 2 of epic welcome homes and our 18 year olds version of I’m too cool to be excited so here is your nod and “sup?”  It’s true, he is just like the cat!  So we are reunited and happy.  Souvenirs have been passed out the rest should be here by mail.  My dolphin 🐬 magnet is on my fridge.  This morning…the world is perfect.

Labor Day Weekend 2016

Well our first Holiday in Idaho.  My two best friends and their families are coming up for the long weekend.  They should all be here by 5.  Tonight’s plans include a tour, BBQ, game night.  Kids will probably play video games and watch a movie.  I am so excited to see Sara and Mandy!  Ok back to the plans.  Tomorrow we are going to start the day with homemade donuts and I have OJ, grape juice, apple juice and pineapple juice.  A juice for everyone!  Then I am taking S&M on a run.  We have a 5 miler planned so they can see the hood.  Around noon the hubbies are taking all the kids for lunch, then to see Pete’s Dragon.  After, they will pick up snacks for the BYU game and pizzas and hot wings.  Sara, Mandy and I get some catch up time.  Oh the things we have planned for our 5 hours of freedom.  Naughty things.  Very naughty things.  It will be fun I can promise you that.  So um where was I?!   Oh yes, the BYU game.  I personally believe BYU wins this game.  Big crowd, return of Hill as QB, new coaching staff.   They will be ready to make a statement.  Rise and Shout!  After celebrating the BYU win we plan to enjoy catching up on the deck.  Probably look at stars with Keith’s telescope and have hot chocolate.  Nights are cooling off but still nice to be out.  The stars are very bright out here where we live.  Sunday will bring church and a relaxing day.  Will make a big dinner and probably watch a movie.  Monday we are up early and headed to Jackson Hole for the day.  I think we leave by 8 so should have a nice full day up there.  I haven’t been there in years so looking forward to seeing it again.  Such a pretty area.  Basically our plans are to be tourists and eat and just enjoy.  I need to see if they have a zip line or something.  Maybe a good hike.  I’ll google today and see what else there is to do.  We will stay through dinner and then head back.  Tuesday everyone heads home and Keith and I get ready for our trip back to Utah.  Will get some fun with the boys then.  :).

My Entrepreneurial Dream

Ok I am putting this out to the Universe and saying help me make it happen.  I have always been a bit of a dreamer.  We are at a place in our lives we are able and want to give back to our community and to make some impact in other’s lives.  So here is my dream idea.  I am really good at making scones and I love hot chocolate.  Like all sorts of flavors to.  Some of you may know this already but I’m a bit of a hot chocolate snob.  Lol.  It’s true but I digress.  So back to the dream.  I want to open a little breakfast cafe that serves all kinds of hot chocolate and of course milk and juices along with scones.  Hours would be 7 am to 11 am only.  Open Monday to Saturday closed Sunday, Black Friday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.  I see what Einstein Brothers did with the bagel.  Dunkin Donuts with Donuts.  I think people would like my scones and hot chocolate.  Now I want to do a social awareness business.  This isn’t something I want to make money on or necessarily stress about.  I would sometimes want to go down and help when the urge strikes but otherwise I want it to take care of itself.  This is how I think I could make it work.  I would take half the profits and donate to a charity or non-profit and change it up every 2 weeks.  I would take the other half and give to the enployees as a profit sharing piece.  That way I have both groups incentivized to be wonderful.  They have everything to gain.  We would have no pricing.  Customers simply pay what they want to.  I believe in the goodness of people and they will take care of the pricing.  If one day you have a dollar that is great the next time leave $10, $20 or even a $100.  This is what I think the world needs.  More of this.  I don’t know when this will happen but I am putting it out there and saying lets do it.  I even have a pretty cool name and logo.  The hours are pretty awesome to!  🙂
