Orlando New Years

It has been such a fun week! We caught our flight on Wednesday morning early and with layovers in Salt Lake City where we were joined by Sara and her family then a fast stop in Atlanta. Thank goodness our gate for the flight to Orlando was close. A layover of 30 minutes is just not enough in my mind. We did make it though!

After arriving in Orlando we grabbed something to eat as the kids were starving. Well to be honest I think we were all starving. Chuy’s was awesome! Delicious Tex-Mex food and I highly recommend them. I had the #3 combo. Yummy! Chuy’s Website We got to the Castle a bit before 7 pm and yes it is as cool as it sounds. Over 14,000 sq ft of fun including a heated pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a Game Center, five full suites, secret passages and a theater that blew my mind. The screen was like 14′ wide. The guys were totally in geek mode exploring with the kids. Sara and I went to the store for groceries lol. We got back and joined everyone at the pool for some late night fun.

The bedroom wasn’t too bad either. Although I have never seen a bathroom that big, I swear our whole master suite at home would have fit in that bathroom. The bed was so comfortable.

Thursday we made a big breakfast and the guys took the older kids to Universal Studios. The younger kids watched a movie, Sara played the piano for awhile. She is very good. She played Claire de Lune one of my all time loved songs. Here is the link Claire de Lune We filled the afternoon with a long run and just talked and relaxed. We joined the park goers for dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. The kids thought it was so cool! The Littles had never been. Tees and souvenirs for all plus plenty of fun till late at Universal Studios. When we got back to the Castle the guys wanted to watch a movie! I fell asleep but somehow ended up in bed so I guess all ended well.

Friday was a day at the Castle. Slept in, guilted Sara into running with me, played games, watched a double feature of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 1 and 2 plus had a big BBQ and more pool time. Dinner was soooooo good. I ate so much but so worth it. Sara didn’t think coming into their room and dragging her out of bed was fair. No such rules had been called so yeah I did and I got away with it. ūüėá

Saturday we slept in then ate lunch before heading to Disney World. Spent the day at Hollywood Studios playing. We had dinner at House of Blues. Yeah we like music and burgers so it is always a favorite. After dinner and some shopping caught a few more attractions until late.

Today we were up early for church. I will admit it was pretty hard to get up but we made it…barely. We have six pianists in our group and the Castle has a beautiful baby grand and we had a piano concert after sacrament. Sara and the kids each prepared a number and WOW it was one of the highlights this week. I loved it! We made Philly Cheesesteaks and soup shots for lunch. It was fun and the soup shots were new. Never had done that but we had a bunch of shot glasses here so we made up something new! Tonight we are headed back to Disney World and will spend time in the Magic Kingdom. Frontierland has a big dance we plan on going to and I am sure will embarrass the kids lol. At midnight a huge fireworks show that I have heard is spectacular.

Tomorrow we plan to chill and watch College Football. Roll Tide! Fajitas, chicken wings, chips & salsa plus a chocolate fountain with strawberries, vanilla wafers, Oreos, bananas and cinnamon bears. I am really looking forward to tonight and tomorrow but always as a trip is coming to a close the excitement of returning to the Homestead grows. This road is a quiet one. We don’t get much traffic and when it snows it is pretty impossible to get anywhere without four wheel drive. This road is where my heart is. This is my home and the place everyone always comes back to. It is where my greatest Joy is. I am excited for 2018 and hope you find Joy in the coming year no matter where your road leads. Happy New Year!

Independence Day Park City

This has been a very fun July 4th.  Left Idaho Falls around 9:30 yesterday and arrived at 2:00.  Mandy and her family got here just before 3:00 and Sara and her family soon after.  The girls claimed the Guest House, the boys the bonus space above the garage.  They were very excited to have their own space.  This vacation property is amazing.  Over 14,000 sq ft with 9 bedroom suites, pool, theater, game room and just insanely beautiful.  Once settled the kids went swimming while Mandy, Sara and I went for groceries.  The boys grilled up dinner and we prepped the rest.  Enjoyed the pool for awhile then went to Main Street and had some dessert.  Finished the night back at the pool and hot tub.

July 4th started with 4 am sex then a pancake breakfast at the park.  At 8:00 several of us ran the 5K.  Parade started at 11:00 and was right up Main Street.  I caught a nap after the Parade then we went back for live music, watching volleyball and BBQ.  We did this buffet and OMG it was delicious.  The day ended with an absolutely stunning show of Fireworks.  I think a swim and the hot tub will be a good way to end this very full day.  I want to do a July 4th Party next year at the Homestead.  I got some great ideas today.  We wore the kids out, that is not easy to do.  I hope everyone ate some good food, spent time with peeps you love and enjoyed some fireworks.

We left Idaho Falls bright and early Monday.  Stops in SLC and LAX on the way to Honolulu.  Arrived there at 1:45 Paradise Time.  Picked up the Explorer and headed to our destination for 4 nights on the East Shores of Kailua Bay.  It was absolutely beautiful.  The beach was about as perfect as you can imagine.  We had 90 ft of beach behind the property plus beach to the north and beach to the south.  It was INCREDIBLE.  The sunrises were breathtaking as well.  I think almost every room had a view of the beach.  See pics below.

Monday night we were invited to a friends for a Memorial Day Feast.  It was fun meeting many of their close friends.  Very long day and when we finally did get to bed we were exhausted.  Tuesday we had a pretty chill morning.  Went to grab some groceries and enjoyed the pool and beach.  Sara and Mandy were getting in about 2 pm so we picked them up and went and had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory.  Tuesday night we had a pretty big dŇćTERRA class with 26 people.  Finally everyone left at about midnight.  Sara was so tired she was incoherent.  We were entering orders until about 2 am.  I was so happy for bed.  Wednesday I got up in time to see the sunrise and then went for a run.  So beautiful.  Took a nap after breakfast.  Sara and Mandy finally got up around 10.  Today was our day with the dolphins.  The kids were so excited and I just want to say this day was one of the best moments of our lives.  Jack and Chip were very talkative as usual and so much energy.  Kids and dolphins ūüź¨ are a perfect match.  Jack posed for this pic.

Thursday we all got up for the sunrise.  Enjoyed the beach for awhile then up to the Polynesian Cultural Center for the afternoon.  Got some tees and souvenirs and didn’t have enough time to see it all.  We didn’t stay for dinner as Mandy, Sara and I had another dŇćTERRA class that evening.  Need to go back for sure.  Friday we didn’t go anywhere.  Enjoyed our last day here on Oahu on the beach.  After lunch we started to do the check out list and then were dropped off at the airport for our flight to Maui.  Hugs and goodbyes to my best friends.  They had an 8:45 flight later back to Utah.  Great way to go home by flying through the night.  I already miss them.  I’ll update Maui in a couple of days.  Honestly a lot of rest and relaxation is planned lol.  ‚̧ԳŹ

Last week Mandy, Sara and I took our hubbies on an adventure to San Francisco.  While there we went down to Santa Clara to see the U2 Joshua Tree concert.  It was the third time we have seen U2 in concert and as usual they were awesome!

Keith and I drove down to Utah Monday afternoon and stayed in Park City for the night. ¬†We got up way too early on Tuesday, I mean we could have slept longer but he was ready to go. ¬†Keith actually pulled the covers off of me! ¬†I was shocked. ¬†I mean you just don’t do that. ¬†Especially after the fun we had a few hours earlier. ¬†I was naked and it was cold. ¬†Anyway it wasn’t a good start to the day. ¬†I had to work very hard to Forgive but I will not Forget.

Keith is one of those travelers that has to get they like an hour before you need to be. I’m kind of the one that I usually makes it on time. Usually like when it really matters. Important stuff I usually make on time anyway. So I tend to be quite vexing to him when we travel. ¬†I make it up in sexual ways but in the moment he can be…what is that word?

Frustrated! ¬†That’s it. ¬†I know your saying “not Angie.” I agree with you. ¬†I totally 110% agree with you. ¬†I will let Keith know. ¬†So anyway we got to San Francisco and checked in at the Marriott Marquis. ¬†Tuesday was a little cloudy and cooler but after some lunch we got a little exploring done. ¬†It was a pretty chill day over all. ¬†Travel days usually are. ¬†After dinner there may have been a little swapping for some hardcore petting that ended in very hot sex with Keith back in our room. ¬†Room service may have been slightly awkward lol. ¬†Happens.

Wednesday we hit the Spa.  Started with a 90 minute hot rock massage and then pedis and manis.  It was a great girls morning.  The guys had been out exploring all morning so we went and had lunch there at the hotel then had a few hours to kill back in the room.  We had to get ready for the concert.  Sometimes it does take awhile.  Distractions.  The guys got back and were rewarded with head from each of us.  We took them each around the world 3 times before the teasing ended.  Then off to Levi Stadium.

We got there about 5:45. ¬†Mumford and Sons was the opening act. ¬†They weren’t too bad. ¬†But I was wanting my U2. ¬†The other concerts we had been to was the Elevation Tour in SLC November 2001 and the the 360 Tour at the University of Utah a few years later. ¬†A U2 concert is pretty much a spiritual experience. ¬†This night was no exception. ¬†They started with Sunday Bloody Sunday and WOW it was over two hours of U2 Heaven.

We got back very late to the Marriott.  Slept in Thursday then ordered room service.  A friend recommended the Filbert Stairs up to the Coit Tower.  That was a lot of stairs!  Beautiful though.  Not something you experience every day.

We had been invited to look at a property while there.  It was built in 1904 in the Presidio Heights neighborhood.  They had a backyard theater and invited us back for a movie night.  We ordered pizzas and it was a lot of fun.  We watched Jason Bourne to wrap up the day and headed back.

Friday we flew back to SLC. ¬†Went to Tucanos for lunch then headed back to Idaho Falls. ¬†Happy to be home for a few days. ¬†One more event this week then Summer Vacation begins. ¬†I can’t wait!

My Hero

Mandy truly saved me this week.  By Wednesday night I had past the point of exhaustion and hit the wall.  It is amazing that years of friendship brings an awareness that is perfect.  Mandy started messaging me in the afternoon and was asking me probing questions.  By evening she insisted her husband would drop her off and she would drive me back to Park City, stay with me and make sure I was ok.  I was like “no I’m fine.”  She was like “no you are not.”  We did the delicate dance of arguing, as friends do, while I fought on the side of independence she fought on the side of rightness.  As exhausted as I was she won, but only because I couldn’t muster a good enough defense.  I tried, oh did I try, but to no avail.  She arrived and at the end of the Christmas party we walked to my car where I didn’t even make it out of the parking garage conscience.  She even had to call Keith to get our address in Park City because she didn’t want to wake me. I have no idea how she got me inside or in bed.  I ‚̧ԳŹ Mandy.  I know I may be a little stubborn.  SURPRISE!  But honestly thank goodness for true friends that on occasion ignore your arguments.  I was starting to come down with a cold and Thursday she even played Nurse.  I got lots of juice and vitamins and rest.  Thursday I had another event that evening and Sara joined us for a girls night.  I got back and they had me the ultimate bubble bath waiting.  I have never seen so many bubbles.   I got about 10 minutes of alone time to relax before they decided to crash my bubbles.  Yes 3 of us naked in a tub but honestly it was just nice, nothing naughty.  We chatted and talked about holiday plans and kids and things.  Ran more hot water a few times and drank juice out of wine glasses lol.  After the bubble bath Sara gave both Mandy and I Aroma Touch Massages with dŇćTERRA essential oils and we watched a movie.  I fell asleep during the movie.  Loved waking up to my best friends.  Sleepovers are fun.  Sometimes just innocent but always fun.  Thank you for taking such good care of me.  I owe you both.
